WEBWISE Wins Award!

The fantastic Webwise Ireland team, in conjunction with our Digital Technologies team, produced a fantastic resource for Safer Internet Day 2019 – HTML Heroes: An Introduction to the Internet.

A few weeks ago, this resource was nominated for an EU Media Literacy Award.

Our own Jane McGarrigle was invited to Brussels to present the resource to the judging panel this week and she has just returned home with the award for the most Educative Media Literacy Project!

With over 120 entries across Europe and three awards given on the day - what a wonderful achievement!!

Congratulations to our Webwise team Jane McGarrigle, Tracey Hogan and Aideen O’Sullivan for yet another terrific resource and for this successful outcome.

Huge thanks also to Ciara Reilly from our Digital Technologies team for her substantial pedagogical contribution through the lessons included in the resource.

Dave O'Mahony from our Scoilnet team also provided excellent support.

And Michael McNamara and Anthony Kilcoyne, whose leadership supported and encouraged this innovation from its inception.

This is the second award Webwise Ireland has received in recent weeks. The Be In Ctrl short film launched in September received an EDA award in Dublin two weeks ago for best charity/not for profit film.

A terrific achievement and well done to all!!
